Your Impact

During your internship, you will assist with the creation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation CAD drawings, working primarily in 2D drafting, with opportunities to learn 3D BIM tools over time. You will use Bentley and Revit, along with other specialty software, and receive on-the-job training in drafting standards and workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Producing and revising electrical and I&C CAD drawings
  • Supporting multiple projects under the guidance of senior designers
  • Applying company drafting standards and CAD workflows
  • Assisting with plan sets, layouts, and documentation
  • Collaborating with engineers and designers in a technical support role
  • Building practical CAD skills while completing your education

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a CAD, Drafting, or Design Technology program (Computer-Aided Drafting, Drafting & Design, or similar)
  • Interest in pursuing a career as an Electrical CAD Technician or Design Technician
  • Familiarity with CAD or drafting software
  • Ability to work 16–20 hours per week during the school year. More hours are available during the summer.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to Bentley, Revit, or AutoCAD
  • Experience working with 2D technical drawings
  • Interest in learning 3D BIM tools over time
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $47,300.00 to $58,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
