Job SummaryThis position supports the financial management of the Superfund Research Program (SRP) and Environmental Health Sciences Center (EHSC) at Oregon State University. The Fiscal Coordinator 1 is responsible for day‑to‑day operations of grants and contracts, providing post‑award consultation, ensuring compliance with sponsor and OSU policies, and serving as the primary departmental resource for budget and financial reporting.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree with 24 quarter (16 semester) hours of accounting courses and two years of accounting experience; OR CPA or PA certificate with two years of accounting experience; OR 24 quarter (16 semester) hours of accounting courses and three years of accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of budget and financial management tools including spreadsheets, financial tracking systems, and data analysis applications.
- Ability to work with financial data and budgets accurately and with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions for data analysis) and comfort working with additional software tools for databases, reporting, or automation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgment in routine situations.
This position is designated as a critical or security‑sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05‑010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self‑report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
Work Location and HoursThis is a full‑time, in‑person position based in the SRP/EHSC department office with regular business hours (Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
