Compensation:

$27.40 to $34.25 per hour (based on years of experience)

Summary:

The Registered Dietitian (RD) provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to individuals (pediatrics and adults) and groups in an outpatient setting to help manage chronic conditions and triage acute nutrition-related health concerns. While this position is primarily patient-facing, the RD may be asked to assist with Diabetes Education programming.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Participate in and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the Service and Behavioral Standards document. Read, familiarize, and embrace these principles.
  • Perform Nutrition Care Process/Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients with various conditions by conducting nutritional assessments, diagnosing problems, and providing tailored interventions and counseling.
  • Collaborate with the Diabetes Education team to coordinate and teach Diabetes Education group classes.
  • Work with primary care and specialty teams to manage treatment plans.
  • Develop, implement, and revise nutrition-related educational programs and resources for patients and staff, including serving as a dietetic intern preceptor.
  • Education, Licensure, and

    Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in nutrition from an accredited program and completion of an approved dietetic internship.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Oregon State Licensed Dietitian.
  • At least one year of clinical dietitian experience, preferably in outpatient counseling.
  • Experience in delivering health education and support for chronic disease management preferred.
  • Experience teaching health education classes preferred.

    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communication:
    Effective written and oral communication skills for explaining complex issues, exchanging information, and conducting group presentations. Knowledge of clinical disease processes and medical management.
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy:
    Skills to assess patients, diagnose nutritional problems, and provide evidence-based counseling, with knowledge of medical records, procedures, terminology, and nutritional guidelines.

    Skills:

    Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Problem Solving:
    Ability to identify complex problems, review information, and develop solutions creatively.
  • Social Perceptiveness:
    Ability to work with diverse populations, understanding age-related communication and care differences.
  • Time Management:
    Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability:
    Respond quickly to urgent situations and adjust actions to provide the best patient care.
