The Medical Assistant works to assist clinicians in providing health care at clinic locations. A Medical Assistant serves the patient and all members of the health care team by gathering and maintaining the necessary medical information in a cheerful, friendly, personable manner. This role provides quality patient care and helps to establish rapport between the clinician and patient. The Associate Medical Assistant works to assist clinicians in providing health care at clinic locations.

Hours: 37.5 total hours per week. Monday - Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm

Specialty: Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

• Obtains patient histories and vital signs and records accurately in the electronic medical record
• Prepares patients for examination and treatment and documents chief complaints
• Manage administrative intake of members
• Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
• Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
• Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
• Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
• Stocks supplies and prepares exam rooms and instruments for examinations, testing, or minor surgeries
• Potential for heavy phone usage. Responds to incoming phone calls and refers if necessary. Calls patients as necessary to follow up and/or schedule appointments
• Performs other duties as assigned

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience.

• 1+ years of office experience
• 6+ months of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting or completion of an accredited phlebotomy certification program
• Experience with PC and Microsoft office
• Prior authorization experience

• Medical Assistant certification
• 1+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant performing front and clinical back-office duties
• Experience working with EPIC EMR software

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $25.05 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
