Imaging Repair Specialist

Job Summary / Purpose

Provides technical support through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.

Clinical Engineering provides technical support to Samaritan Health Services patient care areas through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.

• Associate's degree in Electronics Technology related field or equivalent experience.
• Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of diagnostic imaging equipment and high energy equipment.
• Must have a valid driver's license, use personal automobile, maintain auto liability/property damage insurance and vehicle in good working order.

• Analyze, test, repair, calibrate, install and maintain electronic and electromechanical patient care devices, use test equipment, tools and diagnostic software, and troubleshoot equipment problems to component level.
• Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, fluidic and computer network fundamentals, medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology as applied to imaging and therapy equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and illustrative parts drawings of devices, including color code conventions.
• Understand cause-and-effect relationships, engineering principles, problem‑solving processes, and ability to learn from others using oral and written instructions.
• Operate computers, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, including email, database, spreadsheet and word processing software, and maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices, diagnostic imaging, PACS and associated computer network applications, troubleshooting and diagnostics.

• Reach up, reach forward.
• Enter and exit vehicle/machinery.
