Test Engineer (QA Engineering)
Remote - United States (Must be able to work CST hours)

Our client is seeking a Test Engineer to support automated testing initiatives across modern applications and services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced engineering environments and enjoys collaborating cross-functionally to improve product quality, testing strategy, and deployment reliability.
What You'll Be Doing
• Design, build, and maintain automated test coverage for core services and applications
• Lead efforts around test scenario creation and functional test strategy for new features
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to investigate bugs, triage issues, and resolve failures across environments
• Monitor and maintain automated test pipelines while leveraging logs and observability tools to troubleshoot issues
• Clearly document and communicate defects, findings, and recommendations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across QA processes and workflows
• Leverage emerging AI tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and delivery velocity
What We're Looking For
• Strong proficiency with Node.js and Type Script
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and test runners such as Mocha
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools, specifically Playwright
• Experience testing MQTT or similar Pub/Sub interfaces (Web Sockets, SSE, etc.)
• Experience testing Graph
QL APIs, including complex queries and test maintenance
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments and containerized deployments
• Working knowledge of Docker images and container registries
• Experience working within Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
• Ability to analyze and correlate logs across distributed services to troubleshoot failures
• Experience using Jira or similar issue/task tracking tools
• Familiarity with Android automation testing tools such as Appium is a plus
Additional Details
• Fully remote within the United States
• Must be comfortable working CST business hours
• Initial contract through December 2026 with potential for extension
