Position Summary
The College of Engineering at Oregon State University seeks a student to assist with desktop support in the Information Technology group. The role is part‑time (10–20 hours per week during the academic year, with additional full‑time opportunities during breaks and summer) and is intended for a 2–3 year commitment.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support for staff, faculty, and students on MacOS, Windows, and Linux platforms.
- Utilize IT management tools such as Active Directory, Citrix, Entra, Intune, MCM, VMWare, and Parallels VDI.
- Track and coordinate work using a ticketing system.
- Assist in learning and utilizing new IT management tools and processes.
- Support the department’s computing needs and contribute to a productive IT environment.
- Current enrollment as a student in high school, community college, or university; pursuing a program of study related to the role.
- Meeting academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension are ineligible.
- Compliance with minimal enrollment standards:
- High school: regularly enrolled in a full‑time program or participating in a home‑schooling program.
- Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate: at least 6 credit hours per term.
- Undergraduate international: at least 12 credit hours per term.
- Graduate, officially admitted: at least 5 credit hours per term.
- Graduate international, officially admitted: at least 9 credit hours per term.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Check due to the critical or security‑sensitive nature of the position; ongoing requirements may apply.
- Self‑report of convictions as required by OSU policy.
- Ability to work at least 10–20 hours per week with occasional full‑time during breaks.
