Responsibilities
Kforce is hiring a Technical Writer to support our enterprise technology client based in Corvallis, OR. The Technical Writer will support an industrial product line and will be responsible for producing original content, including product manuals and instructional materials. This role involves working closely with engineers, operations, R&D, and SME to document content for press products.
- Create product manual templates and instructional materials
- Collaborate with engineers, operations, R&D, and SMEs to understand and document content
- Develop operating, preventative maintenance, service, installation, and troubleshooting guides
- Craft reusable sentences and paragraphs for multiple manuals
- Manage content localization practices for compliance in different languages
- Ensure proper content management and distribution
- Expertise in technical writing and content creation
- Strong command of the English language
- Experience with XML-based environments for tagging and information architecture
- Knowledge of localization practices and compliance requirements
- Ability to work closely with engineers and other stakeholders
- Specialized skills in working with subject matter experts, including interviewing, reviewing available starting material/engineering documentation, observing work processes of personnel, and self-operation when appropriate; requires a curiosity for content and inquisitiveness to research, identify actions, and define necessary background information; some travel or on-site presence may be required to be near the press or equipment
- Experience with both Microsoft Word and XML, including management of reuse of topics/content across press platforms and deliverables, topic tagging protocols, and dynamic delivery publication management; understanding of content architecture systems, including digital asset management, rights and roles of content owners, check-in/check-out, content inputs and publishing outputs, file types, linking strategies, and document design fundamentals
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.
