This recruitment will be used to fill fifty (50) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Safe Ride Driver for the Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) at Oregon State University (OSU).

Position Duties

Safe Ride Vehicle Responsibilities:

* Drive Safe Ride vehicles in a manner consistent with the core values of the Safe Ride program, following state and local road laws

* Provide regular and ongoing feedback to coworkers to improve the operations and safety of Safe Ride

* Utilize the Safe Ride app to communicate accurate navigation directions to the Safe Ride driver and work with Safe Ride Nightly Operations Leaders (NOLs) to coordinate ride requests

* Use critical thinking and teamwork skills to solve ride problems with the NOLs and copilot

* Use handheld radios to communicate and address any crises or disruptions to regular Safe Ride operations

* Maintain a professional and clean environment in the vehicles each night

* Communicate to riders and staff in a professional and respectful manner

Safe Ride Office Responsibilities:

* Gather and analyze information from driver teams to respond to crisis situations, working with the NOLs to create an action plan to resolve said crisis

* Create a welcoming and respectful environment for all staff and riders

* Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor to ensure Safe Ride is seen as a pillar of safety and belonging to the community

* Identify and report employee or rider behavioral issues and safety concerns as they occur

* Use critical thinking skills to maintain the integrity of student privacy when working with student information

* Act as a substitute driver/navigator in the event of sudden illness or absence

* Provide excellent customer service to Safe Ride customers who call in to request a ride
