In the Maintenance Assistant role, you will be providing maintenance services to the building, apartments, equipment, and grounds of our assisted living community, all while collaborating with the Maintenance Director.

- Provide assistance in delivering preventive maintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.
- Perform repairs under the supervision of the Maintenance Director and within your area of expertise (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting) and in accordance with accepted codes.
- Monitor and record building and water temperatures and adjust to meet regulations and safety codes.
- Ensure strict adherence to community fire safety and hazardous chemical procedures and promptly address all unsafe conditions or equipment problems.
- Perform floor care on an ongoing basis, including carpeting in resident apartments and common areas.
- Remove trash gathered by housekeepers and caregivers on a daily basis.
- Maintain grounds in a professional, well‑groomed manner by performing grounds maintenance or working with a landscape company.
You will need a vocational or trade school degree in general maintenance or three years of experience in carpentry, electrical, or painting work. Experience with budgets is helpful.
