Why this role matters

As a member of the Leadership Team , the Branch Manager provides the insights, ideas, and expert perspective needed to support our strategic direction and business plan objectives. You’ll lead a branch culture where employees feel motivated, empowered, and accountable—and where they truly understand they’re the key to our success.

Under the general direction of the Director of Retail , you’ll supervise, coach, and inspire the sales and referral team, while driving performance and creating an exceptional member experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities Leadership and Culture (20%)
  • Inspire, motivate, and empower staff to achieve exceptional service and performance goals—modeling CWCU’s values (integrity, respect, compassion, humor).
  • Role-model accountability, integrity, and professionalism; address issues directly and provide timely, actionable feedback.
  • Foster open communication and a collaborative team culture that values diverse perspectives.
Coaching and Development (20%)
  • Provide clear objectives, actionable coaching, and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations focused on development and continuous improvement.
  • Recognize wins and address performance gaps effectively and respectfully.
Strategic Execution and Critical Thinking (15%)
  • Build and execute strategies to meet/exceed branch goals using data and market insight.
  • Solve complex challenges with sustainable, data-driven solutions.
  • Set clear measures, monitor progress, and communicate results.
Operational Excellence (15%)
  • Maintain high standards for organization, compliance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Resolve member concerns with patience, professionalism, and strong judgment.
  • Improve workflows and efficiency to make work easier and service smoother.
Sales and Member Engagement (20%)
  • Lead a proactive sales culture that deepens member relationships.
  • Drive the branch to exceed sales/service goals; monitor performance and recommend improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with members, internal partners, and community connections.
Community Engagement (5%)
  • Represent CWCU at community events; build goodwill and strengthen local partnerships.
  • Support and participate in credit union-sponsored community initiatives.
Administrative and Reporting (5%)
  • Prepare performance reports and identify process improvements using tools consistently.
  • Attend training and ensure compliance with internal/external policies; seek and accept feedback.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of organizational goals and values.
