Compensation: $81,120–$85,862 (DOE) + excellent benefits and retirement contributions

Location: Onsite Benco main administrative office & Benco residential program sites, with required on-call and emergency response availability (see last page for more details).

Position Summary

The Residential Director is a key leader in Benco’s services and plays a central role in ensuring the health, safety, rights, and overall quality of life of the people Benco supports. This position provides leadership, oversight, and accountability for residential program operations, with a strong focus on person-centered services, compliance, staff supervision, and responsive coordination of resident support.

The Residential Director leads with kindness, professionalism, sound judgment, and operational excellence while supporting Program Coordinators, the Delegation Nurse, and other Benco team members to ensure services are delivered effectively and in alignment with Benco’s mission.

Staff Leadership and Supervision

  • Directly supervise Program Coordinators, Sub Manager, and the Delegation Nurse.
  • Provide coaching, support, accountability, and skill development for Program Coordinators, Sub Manager, and the Delegation Nurse.
  • Support Program Coordinators in effectively training and directing nurses, APCs, Lead Staff, and DSPs in resident care, program implementation, and daily service expectations.
  • Identify training needs and connect Program Coordinators, Sub Manager, and the Delegation Nurse with ongoing learning and enrichment opportunities.
  • Model professional, compassionate, and mission-aligned leadership.

Program Operations

  • Oversee the program staffing schedules to ensure staffing aligns with assessed resident needs and required staffing ratios.
  • Review Program Coordinator timecards in Benco’s payroll system, UKG.
  • Approve Program Coordinator time-off requests.
  • Support Program Coordinators as needed to ensure staffing coverage, program consistency and service sustainability.
  • Approve program expenses and authorization forms as assigned.
  • Ensure Benco policies, procedures, and systems are followed, and collaborate with the Benco administrative team as needed when concerns arise.

Resident Rights, Quality, and Compliance

  • Ensure resident rights, goals, and services remain aligned and centered on dignity, respect, choice, self-determination, and person-centered practices.
  • Oversee implementation of resident supports and ensure resident preferences, needs, and outcomes are met.
  • Ensure Residency Agreements are signed, and residents remain in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Assist with Rep Payee accounts as needed.
  • Assist with Social Security and Medicaid reviews as needed.
  • Oversee documentation compliance across residential programs, responding to GERs and ensuring appropriate follow-up is completed.
  • Support licensing visits and collaborate with the Quality Assurance Coordinator on follow-up actions.
  • Work with the Personnel Director, Quality Assurance Coordinator, Maintenance, and others as needed to support a safe, secure, and compliant residential environment.

Medical, Behavioral, and Service Coordination

  • Provide leadership and oversight related to medical care coordination, behavior supports, delegation needs, nursing supports, and other professional services.
  • Serve as the primary administrative contact for coordinated resident services, maintaining communication with service providers, Program Coordinators, and other involved team members.
  • Support implementation and follow-through on resident service plans, ISP-related needs, and service assessments such as ONAs.Attend and participate in annual meetings and scheduled assessment reviews.
  • Participate in and support response to medical and behavioral crises by coordinating team communication and helping identify the most effective strategies for success.
  • Receive and respond to emergency notifications outside of typical work hours as outlined in resident support documents.
  • Collaborate with families, service coordinators, work programs, medical professionals, and other providers to maintain quality services.
