Position Summary
Western Pulp Products is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our Corvallis, Oregon, manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and supports production across all shifts, including overtime and emergency call-ins.
A valid Electrical License (LME, MPJ, MPE, or Journeyman) is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production and processing equipment.
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical repairs.
- Repair or replace motors, pumps, bearings, belts, and related components.
- Perform all-position welding using steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
- Maintain and repair gasoline- and propane-powered forklifts.
- Assist with electrical installations and repairs, including wiring and component replacement.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems.
- Support PLCs and automation systems used in manufacturing operations.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance accurately and on time.
- Conduct inspections and identify opportunities to reduce downtime.
- Support improvements to the preventive maintenance program.
- Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, lighting, and utilities.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform lockout/tagout procedures and adhere to forklift and hazardous material safety protocols.
- Document work orders, repairs, and inspections in the CMMS.
- Communicate effectively with production teams to minimize downtime.
- Respond to breakdowns, emergencies, and after-hours call-ins as required.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (3–4 hours at a time).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in tight spaces.
- Ability to work in warm environments where temperatures may exceed 100°F.
- Flexibility to work 8–12-hour shifts, including weekends and overtime.
- Strong visual acuity, color differentiation, and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Valid Electrical License: LME, MPJ, MPE, or Journeyman (required).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and manuals.
- Basic computer skills and CMMS experience preferred.
