Job Description & How to Apply Below
Inpria Corporation is seeking a Staff Synthesis Chemist II to support the pilot and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) of organometallic precursors used in advanced photoresist production. This role is responsible for executing and maintaining robust, high-purity synthetic processes under manufacturing conditions, with a strong emphasis on air-sensitive chemistry, process reproducibility, and data integrity.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on expertise in organometallic synthesis, a disciplined approach to laboratory and manufacturing practices, and experience operating within a quality-driven production environment.
Primary Responsibilities:- Safely execute organic and organometallic syntheses and separations in accordance with established manufacturing processes and safety protocols
- Perform air-sensitive and pyrophoric manipulations using Schlenk line and glovebox techniques, including addition, transfer, filtration, and purification operations
- Execute and support scale-up of synthetic processes from laboratory to pilot and HVM production, ensuring reproducibility, yield, and impurity control
- Conduct fractional distillation and purification under high vacuum to meet stringent precursor purity specifications
- Accurately calculate, measure, and track multistep and multicomponent reactions, ensuring precise material handling and accountability
- Maintain complete, accurate, and audit‑ready batch records, including all process data and metrology results, in compliance with internal quality systems and manufacturing procedures
- Ensure data integrity and traceability in all aspects of reaction monitoring, documentation, and reporting
- Own and maintain standard manufacturing processes for organometallic precursors, including process monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
- Investigate process deviations and out-of-specification results, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Develop, document, and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support safe, consistent, and scalable manufacturing
- Perform analytical characterization and metrology (e.g., multinuclear NMR and other relevant techniques or moisture analysis) on reagents, intermediates, and final products
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and EHS teams to transfer processes, resolve production issues, and improve operational performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and EHS standards
- Support EHS programs, including development of SOPs, exposure monitoring protocols, and appropriate PPE requirements
Qualifications:
- MS in Chemistry, or BS in Chemistry (or related discipline) with at least 2+ years of industrial or manufacturing experience
- At least 1+ year of hands‑on experience in organic or organometallic synthesis
- Experience with air‑sensitive and pyrophoric materials strongly preferred
- Experience in process scale‑up, catalyst systems, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to safe laboratory and manufacturing practices
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to documentation and data integrity standards
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills, including technical data presentation
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and capable of working both independently and within a cross‑functional team environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employer sponsorship
- Ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment drug test
- Ability to wear a respirator (upon training/certification) and standard PPE as required
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and move 55‑gallon drums using appropriate equipment
- Ability to perform precise manipulations in a glovebox environment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform computer‑based data entry, analysis, and presentation
- Full‑time onsite role (40+ hours/week; typical schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Occasional weekend work may be required to support manufacturing operations
- Minimal travel expected
