General Production Associate

This role supports a custom rubber compounding and mixing facility that has been delivering high-quality rubber compounds and service for over half a century. You will work in a hands-on, physically active production environment, starting with palletizing and lacing rubber strips and progressively cross-training in key areas of the manufacturing process. The position requires strong attendance, a reliable work ethic, and a willingness to work in a dirty manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Palletize manufactured rubber by taking long strips from the production line and weaving them neatly onto pallets for shipment.
  • Lace rubber strips by weaving them back and forth on the pallet and cross-weaving multiple layers to create an organized, stable pallet of rubber.
  • Support batching operations by pulling ingredients and compounds according to work orders and accurately weighing them to create rubber mixes.
  • Assist the mixer in preparing, operating, and supporting the mixing process for rubber compounding.
  • Unload the mixer and ensure rubber is cut into specified strips according to production requirements.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a dirty manufacturing environment, maintaining awareness of surroundings and adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple buildings to complete daily production goals while working independently at assigned stations.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, contributing to steady production flow and meeting customer deadlines.
Essential Skills
  • Previous production experience in a manufacturing or general labor environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of great attendance, supported by references.
  • Willingness to work in a very dirty manufacturing environment with exposure to rubber dust.
  • Strong go-getter mentality with a proactive and reliable work ethic.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, moving, and palletizing rubber strips.
  • Comfort working around production machinery and equipment in an industrial setting.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating a sit-down propane forklift is a plus, with potential to operate after being hired on directly.
  • Experience in general production, general labor, or machine operation.
  • Familiarity with palletizing processes and material handling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow work orders and instructions accurately, especially when batching and weighing ingredients.
  • Capability to work both independently at a station and as part of a broader production team across multiple buildings.
Why Work Here?

This opportunity offers a long-term career path in a well-established rubber manufacturing operation with over fifty years of industry experience. As you demonstrate reliability and capability, you will receive cross-training in multiple production areas, expanding your skills and future prospects. Upon direct hire, you will gain access to a strong benefits package and the stability of working with a company that values commitment, teamwork, and continuous development.

Work

Environment

The role is based in a very dirty rubber manufacturing facility where exposure to rubber dust is common and will likely accumulate on clothing by the end of each shift. The operation spans three buildings, and you will work at individual stations while coordinating with a broader team to accomplish daily production goals. The environment includes production lines, mixers, batching stations, and palletizing areas, with potential future use of sit-down propane forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

You should expect a physically demanding, industrial setting where safety awareness, proper attire suitable for a dusty manufacturing environment, and comfort working around machinery are essential.
