Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will be capable of providing exceptional care to critically ill patients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patient safety. As an ICU RN, you will play a crucial role in monitoring patients' conditions, administering medication, performing procedures, and managing ventilators, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide round-the-clock care to critically ill patients within the ICU setting.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medication, and assess patients' conditions accurately.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Perform advanced medical procedures, including inserting and managing intravenous lines, arterial lines, and Foley catheters.
  • Operate and manage various medical equipment, such as ventilators, defibrillators, and blood pressure monitors.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and optimized outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care plans.
  • Document patients' progress, medication administration, and interventions accurately and comprehensively.
  • Respond rapidly to emergencies and provide appropriate critical nursing interventions.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, maintaining a safe and clean ICU environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, advancements in medical technology, and changes in healthcare regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid and current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit or critical care setting, preferably in an acute care hospital.
  • Proficient in assessing and managing critically ill patients, including ventilator management and advanced life support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize patient care based on acuity and urgency.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and clinical documentation systems.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Additional certifications in critical care nursing are preferred.
