Description RN Wound Ostomy at Providence Portland Medical Center is a per diem part time position working during weekdays on a day shift. As a Wound Ostomy Continente Nurse, you’ll be at the heart of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team—working alongside hospitalists, colorectal and general surgeons, vascular experts, podiatrists, and dedicated ancillary staff. Together, we deliver cutting-edge, compassionate care to patients with complex wound and ostomy needs.

• Craft personalized wound, ostomy, and skin care plans that guide patients from hospital to home.
• Educate patients and empower them to manage their care with confidence.
• Train and support nursing staff across the hospital in best practices for wound, ostomy, and incontinence skin care.
• Lead quarterly Skin Prevalence studies and champion our Skin Care Resource Nurse team.
• Provide ongoing support through our outpatient ostomy clinic, including expert stoma site markings and follow-up care.

This is an inpatient nursing role where your clinical skills, leadership, and compassion will shine.

The Wound Ostomy Nurse provides inpatient and outpatient clinical services throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Wound/Ostomy Care Clinic. The Wound Ostomy Nurse also serves on several regional patient care committees.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Upon hire:
  Oregon Registered Nurse License
• Upon hire:
  National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
• Upon hire:
  Current certification in wound ostomy nursing, dual specialty (CWON) by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board; or obtain CWON certification within 12 months of hire
• 2 years recent acute care nursing experience, preferably including wound and ostomy care.
