Location:

Corvallis, Oregon. Duration:
July 20, 2026 – January 29, 2027 (seasonal; dates subject to change).

Responsibilities
  • Collect fish tissues for health examinations at hatcheries on the Willamette and lower Columbia Rivers.
  • Process samples and perform microbiological tests in the Corvallis Fish Pathology Laboratory.
  • Enter and summarize data.
  • Assist in sampling wild brood fish throughout Oregon.
  • Use precise technical skills to measure small volumes of tissues and liquids accurately.
  • Write reports documenting findings.
  • Communicate collected information to hatchery staff and other ODFW personnel.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a scientific laboratory setting.
  • Experience collecting and handling biological samples.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in technical, detail‑oriented tasks.
  • Experience recording and maintaining data.
  • Current pursuit or possession of a degree in Fisheries, Wildlife Science, or related biological/ecological sciences.
