Assistant Manager

Do you love plants and people? We’re looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations at our locally owned garden center.

This is a hands‑on role perfect for someone who enjoys customer service, merchandising, teamwork, and the seasonal pace of garden center retail.

• Assist with day‑to‑day store operations
• Provide excellent customer service and plant/product guidance
• Support hiring, training, and supervising retail staff
• Help maintain attractive displays and merchandising
• Receive inventory and keep products organized
• Open and close the store
• Assist with scheduling and team coordination
• Ensure the garden center stays clean, welcoming, and well‑stocked

• Previous retail or customer service experience required
• Supervisory or management experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day
• Interest in gardening, plants, or outdoor living is preferred
• Reliable, positive attitude and strong work ethic
