PositionFacilities Maintenance Technician - Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant, Portland, OR. This role requires broad knowledge and skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and related facilities trades. The technician supports facility maintenance across multiple City locations, working autonomously to troubleshoot, provide preventative maintenance, and repair equipment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform hands-on tasks including inspection, adjustment, installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of facility equipment and structures.
- Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, refrigeration, and related equipment.
- Repair and replace plumbing components, roof, doors, windows, and exterior infrastructure such as fencing and gates.
- Coordinate and execute maintenance on carpentry and electrical components.
- Work independently while supporting overall reliability and performance of wastewater treatment facilities.
- Participate in on-site visits and review completed work orders with supervisors.
- Knowledge of building/facility automated control systems and components.
- Skill in performing building maintenance and repairs, including scheduling preventative maintenance inspections and repairing interior and exterior hardware.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Experience repairing and replacing facility electrical components.
- Experience managing facility maintenance hazards and safety precautions, including OSHA standards.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, refrigerant/evacuation/recharge tools, carpentry, and basic machine tools.
- Current Limited Maintenance Electrical (LME) license or higher Oregon electrical license.
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record at time of appointment.
- Refrigerant 608 certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Future vacancies may require additional certifications such as class three boilers license, Oregon back-flow tester / cross-connection inspector, confined space entry, or brazing certification.
