Benton County is actively looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to serve as a Road Maintenance Worker
3. Operate heavy equipment that requires considerable knowledge of equipment capability, county road system, road system structures. This position is distinguished from the Road Maintenance Worker 1 (Light) and (Medium) classifications by the types of equipment assigned, complexity of work performed, and the level of decision making.

Please Note:

• This position can be filled at a 2 or 3 level depending on qualifications.
• Lower-Level Option:
  The goal is to fill this position as a Road Maintenance Worker
  3. However, this position may be filled at a lower level and applicants who meet the qualifications for the Road Maintenance Worker 2 are encouraged to apply.

• Annual salary range of:
• $51,012 - $71,138 - Road Maintenance Worker 2
• $55,559 - $77,415 - Road Maintenance Worker 3
• This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year as long as your performance is in good standing!

Minimum Qualifications:

• Road Maintenance Worker 2: 1 year of technical training beyond high school and; 4 years of experience related to Road Maintenance, Road Construction, Paving, Heavy Equipment operations or closely related.
• Road Maintenance Worker 3:
  Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate; and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in position or specialization.

Special Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Oregon CDL Class A driver's license with an acceptable driving record (see supplemental question for required documents).
• Must obtain an ODOT Flagger card within 6 months after hire.
• Must obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED within 6 months after hire.
