About the RoleDedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides to support students and teachers when regular staff are absent. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Substitute aides assist with classroom activities, provide individualized student support, and help ensure continuity of services across general education and special education settings.
Key Responsibilities- Support classroom teachers by assisting with instruction, activities, and supervision
- Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students, including those with special needs
- Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist
- Assist students with daily tasks such as organization, transitions, and engagement in lessons
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, or during arrival/dismissal
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment
- Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and administrators
Document student observations or incidents as required
Required Qualifications- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations)
- Clean criminal background checks
- Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive, and professional manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classrooms and student needs
- Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks)
Adherence to Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with children, especially in educational or childcare settings
- Prior experience supporting students with disabilities
