Position Overview:

Performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams to aid in medical diagnoses, ensuring quality and safety while using professional judgment.

Essential Duties:

Use hospital information systems effectively for processing patient data.

Operate ultrasound equipment for cardiac and vascular procedures, including monitoring and troubleshooting.

Produce high-quality diagnostic exams with appropriate technical adjustments.

Provide basic care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Assume call status for emergency procedures as needed.

Identify urgent abnormal studies and communicate findings appropriately.

Apply criteria for image-enhancing agents and perform specialty studies like Stress Echocardiography, TEE, pacemaker studies.

Participate in training ultrasound students and new staff.

Qualifications:

Level 1: High school diploma, 1+ year ultrasound experience, ARDMS or CCI credentials, CPR certification, good communication and interpersonal skills.

Level 2: Same as Level 1 plus cross-training in a second specialty, acquiring and maintaining a second credential, and providing secondary coverage and mentorship.

Level 3: Dual credentialing, advanced skills in pediatric echocardiography, and comprehensive coverage in multiple specialties.
