The Buehler’s Assistant Deli Lead is a key position within our Food Service Operations. In addition to supporting the Deli Lead, this position has the opportunity to support Food Service Operations. The Assistant Deli Lead works closely with their Deli Lead and the Deli Support team to ensure the customer has an exceptional experience either while shopping in our store or dining in our restaurant.

• Assist Deli Lead in the supervision of staff to ensure they maintain exceptional customer service including greeting customers and answering questions
• Maintain Buehler’s high standards for freshness and sanitation
• Provide knowledge to staff so they can sell products by providing information the customer needs to make product-related decisions
• Assist in Deli department recruiting efforts including involvement in employee hiring, onboarding, training and retention
• Assist in employee recognition and employee relations
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
• Support Restaurant, Catering and Specialty areas with special orders and party trays
• Responsible for product ordering, storage and inventory
• Operate the slicer and other commercial food service equipment
• Assumes team lead responsibilities in the absence of the Deli Lead

• Attain at least 18 years of age
• Able to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lb and occasionally 80 lb
• Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and ability to do simple math
• Able to work within a deli/kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives; exposure to heat, steam, fire and noise
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with a disability to perform the essential functions
