Employees must plan out daily assigned duties assigned by their direct supervisor. Work with others when planning scheduled repair work. Read and understand written instructions such as operation manuals and LOTO instructions to ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
Use hand or power tools and equipment to lift, hoist, and move parts and plant equipment with skill, care, and dexterity. Handle heavy materials and work in restricted areas. Use voltage, amperage, and ohm meters to troubleshoot equipment.
Materials utilized: any electrical material.
Facilities used:
McWane Ductile Ohio and McWane Poles.
Location of job: plant-wide; work within all departments is required.
Tools and equipment: all electrical tools and meters required to perform the job function, including electrical voltmeter, megger, conduit bender, drills, and hand tools.
Safety: adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures. FR-rated clothing and special gloves required; PPE mandatory for Arc Flash Category 1‑4 per NFPA 70E.
- Selected candidates may work in areas where molten iron is present, conveying and pipe finishing systems, and equipment.
Preferred:
Electrical experience and ability to support the McWane Way Culture. Work together to make a quality product.
- 3 years experience as an industrial electrician.
- OR obtained an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technologies or equivalent.
- Experience in installation and troubleshooting voltage circuits ranging from 24 V AC/DC to 480 VAC.
- Experience with PLC and VFDs.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting equipment.
- Experience with equipment installation, panel building, and conduit bending.
