We are a well-established interior design studio and luxury home furnishings retailer seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands‑on position responsible for managing accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, account reconciliations, tax filings, and month‑end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounting cycle and maintain accurate financial records
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare month‑end journal entries and assist with month‑end and year‑end close
  • Generate internal financial reports and management reporting
  • Monitor and process inventory‑related accounting adjustments
  • Assist ownership with financial analysis and special projects
  • Process accounts payable using three‑way matching procedures
  • Review and approve invoices for proper coding and documentation
  • Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Record daily bank deposits and other cash activity
Payroll, Compliance & Reporting
  • Process payroll and sales commission calculations
  • Complete workers' compensation reporting
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns
  • Prepare and file business property tax reports
  • Coordinate annual 1099 reporting
  • Assist external CPA and tax professionals during year‑end reporting
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience with increasing responsibility
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
  • Experience with payroll processing and sales tax reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks, Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Retail, inventory, furniture, design, construction, or related industry experience is a plus
  • High degree of accuracy and accountability
  • Strong organizational and follow‑through skills
  • Self‑motivated and resourceful
  • Professional communication skills
  • Team‑oriented with a service mindset
