Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Costa Mesa, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of an organization through comprehensive accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-cycle accounting, including payroll processing, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

- Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees using Paychex.

- Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts.

- Handle corporate and sales tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

- Support month-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements.

- Utilize Quick Books Online to manage accounting records and transactions.

- Conduct cash reconciliations to monitor and manage organizational finances.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance.

- Address and resolve accounting discrepancies or issues promptly. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years' experience in a full-cycle accounting role.

- Proficiency in payroll processing using Paychex.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

- Familiarity with Quick Books Online for accounting tasks.

- Experience with corporate and sales tax filings.

- Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and month-end close activities.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
