Overview

Temporary DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT needed to cover for a 6 plus month LOA in Costa Mesa. This is an IN OFFICE role. Not a remote role.

This person will prepare public Board Meeting packets in accordance with the Brown Act and provide advanced administrative support to the Chief Administrative Officer. This is an on-site, full-time assignment for an estimated duration of 6 months. The position will be expected to work 40 hours/week from 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Experience working in the government sector, specifically with public board meetings
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Advanced ability using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Thrives working on a team
  • Experience applying The Brown Act
Example of Duties
  • Prepares Board and/or Committee meeting packets by reviews all contents of packets to ensure information is complete and accurate
  • Coordinates the distribution of Board and/or Committee packets
  • Prepares Board meeting notices
  • Oversees and updates the Board of Directors and District s website to ensure information is current
  • Prepares and processes the Board of Director s payroll, communication, and mileage reimbursement
  • Oversees and updates the Board of Directors and District Transparency sections of the District s website to ensure information is up-to-date
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by vocational/technical training in office practices.
  • Experience:

    Three years of increasingly responsible clerical, secretarial, and routine administrative support experience.
