HCAI Superintendent
HBC is seeking a HCAI Superintendent. Must possess extensive healthcare construction experience and a strong understanding of HCAI requirements, hospital operations, infection control protocols, and patient-centered construction practices. Capable of successfully delivering projects in active healthcare environments while maintaining safety, compliance, and uninterrupted facility operations.
The Project Superintendent is HBC's first-line manager and representative, responsible for professionally representing the company, its policies, practices, products, and managerial effectiveness to clients, subcontractors, and the public every day. He or she is responsible for the conduct, completion, and quality of all work put in place on each project. This is an exempt position as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
HCAI-SPECIFICEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- In-depth understanding of mission-critical activities within active hospitals and medical outpatient buildings, with the ability to maintain facility operations while construction activities are underway.
- Experienced in preparing and implementing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for work impacting critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the TIO process and all applicable inspection and documentation requirements.
- Understanding of medical imaging equipment installations, including shielding requirements and electrical coordination.
- Basic knowledge of medical gas system installations and applicable code and regulatory requirements.
- Thorough understanding of infection control practices, including the implementation of Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) measures and management of dust-generating activities within infection control barriers.
- Strong communication skills with hospital staff, end users, and stakeholders, with a clear understanding of maintaining a positive patient experience during construction activities.
- Experience working on HCAI 1 and HCAI 3 projects and coordinating with regulatory agencies and inspection teams.
- Knowledge of healthcare facility seismic anchorage requirements and compliance standards.
