Position Summary

We’re working with a civil contractor that has built a strong reputation in public works and water/wastewater construction, with multiple projects running simultaneously across Southern California. They’re looking to add a Superintendent who takes pride in running clean, organized jobs and leading from the front in the field.

This is a boots‑on‑the‑ground leadership role where you’ll have real influence over how projects are executed day to day. The team relies heavily on their Superintendents to drive production, maintain quality, and keep strong relationships with inspectors and crews. If you’re someone who values ownership, consistency, and being trusted to run your work, this environment supports that.

You’ll be working across projects in LA County, Ventura County, and Orange County, with a steady pipeline that keeps teams busy without constant chaos or overload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead field operations across water, sewer, and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Coordinate daily activities of crews, subcontractors, and equipment
  • Ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans/specs
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to align field execution with project goals
  • Interface with city inspectors, agencies, and stakeholders on‑site
  • Oversee scheduling, site logistics, and sequencing of work
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and compliance across all field activities
  • Proactively identify and resolve field issues to keep projects moving
Typical Projects Include
  • Water and sewer pipeline installations
  • Storm drain and underground utility systems
  • Pump stations and public infrastructure upgrades
  • Municipal and public agency civil improvement projects
  • Environmentally sensitive projects requiring detailed coordination
Qualifications
  • 5–15+ years of experience in heavy civil or public works construction
  • Strong background in water, sewer, or wastewater (wet utilities)
  • Proven experience leading field crews on public works projects
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and schedules
  • Experience working with city inspectors and public agencies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Commitment to safety and quality execution
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Strong project backlog providing long‑term stability
  • High‑trust role with real ownership in the field
  • Supportive team structure between field and office
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful public infrastructure projects
  • Consistent workflow without excessive project overload
