Role DescriptionThe Senior Estimator will effectively prepare budgets and estimated proposals through quantity surveying and detailed pricing for commercial construction projects consistent with Nova's target project definitions. These pricing efforts must result in securing a sufficient volume of work, with acceptable profit margins, to account for a proportionate share of the forecasted revenue volume in the desired market. To effectively complete assigned construction projects according to the applicable specifications and budgets.
Effective completion of a job includes, but is not limited to, fully complying with Nova's contract responsibilities, achieving financial results that meet or improve upon budget constraints, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. The Senior Estimator will provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of projects either directly or through subordinate personnel. Openings available in Costa Mesa and San Diego.
- Strong expertise and previous experience in construction estimating in the walls and ceilings industry, including detailed quantity takeoffs and cost modeling.
- Experience with preconstruction processes, including budget development, value engineering, constructability review, and bid-leveling.
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools, and familiarity with BIM and 3-D modeling workflows for quantification and coordination.
- Solid understanding of building plans, specifications, and construction documents, with the ability to identify risks, gaps, and scope clarifications.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to work with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities to manage multiple bids and deadlines concurrently.
