Assistant Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Construction - Costa Mesa, CA

We're working with a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure across Southern California. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they're looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of complex municipal infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer looking to step into project management, or an Assistant PM wanting to join one of the region's top self-performing contractors.

• Support Project Managers in the planning and delivery of water and wastewater construction projects.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and field teams to keep projects on schedule.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Monitor project progress and report on cost, schedule and performance.
• Attend client, consultant and internal project meetings.
• Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

• 2-6 years of experience in heavy civil or water/wastewater construction.
• Experience on one or more of the following:
• Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
• Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP)
• Pump Stations
• Underground Utilities
• Water Infrastructure Projects
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of project controls and construction documentation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with Primavera P6, Procore or Bluebeam is beneficial.
