Interior Design Associate
The award winning design firm Morrison Interiors is seeking a full time Interior Design Associate to join our highly creative and collaborative team!
A Design Associate will have 1-3 years of residential experience and is ready to put the formal schooling to work. A design associate will learn the new construction design process through being a collaborative and valuable member of the team. A Design Associate will work closely with the Senior Designers to develop all the technical skill necessary to give you the foundation for your design career.
Technical Skills
- Degree or Education in Interior Design
- Proficient in Auto Cad
- Proficient in Sketchup
- Experience with Adobe Suite
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Support our design team on projects by playing a role in everything from design development through execution.
- Draft construction documents including elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish schedules and specifications
- Assemble spec books for clients, architects and builders
- Prepare for design presentations with clients by assisting with:
- Presentations on power point
- Renderings
- Floor plans and elevations
- Labeling all materials
- Price out designs for client proposals
- Follow up with vendors, clients, contractors, etc on any necessary information
What position fits you best?
- A Design Intern is completing a college degree in design or looking to start an Interior Design career.
- A Design Associate is learning the design process and developing the technical skills by collaborating with the team in all phases of the design process.
- A Junior Designer is fine tuning the technical skills and gaining experience in client relations
- A Lead Designer has all the technical skills, experience with client relations and is ready to manage their own projects with minimal guidance
- A Senior Designer is ready to manage a book of design projects as well as mentor younger designers
