PerformanceResponsibilities
- Provide quality instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Create and maintain an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in subject‑matter areas.
- Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off‑campus classes.
- Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, issued before July 1 1990.
- Master’s degree in any biological science from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in any biological science and a Master’s degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science from an accredited institution.
- Combination of education and experience equal to the above; applicants must submit an Application for Equivalency.
Employment is part‑time and temporary, contingent upon verification of employment history, background check, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Hours are scheduled on an as‑needed basis. The position remains in the temporary faculty pool for one year following application.
SalaryCompensation is based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current part‑time faculty salary schedule.
