Adjunct Faculty; Pool - Undergraduate Communication Film​/Media

Position Description

Undergraduate Communication Department seeks applications for adjunct instructors for topic‑specific courses in filmmaking and digital media, including film production, film post‑production, audio, animation, AR/VR and other visual media technologies. Vanguard seeks professionals of Christian faith who are committed to the integration of faith and learning in their respective fields. Applicants must have demonstrated teaching ability and a commitment to working with and encouraging diversity.

• Teach digital media or film production processes and techniques specific to the course topic.
• Transfer knowledge including theory, practical skills, methods and techniques in the related field.
• Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and thinking, including critical evaluation of peer‑reviewed articles and other published sources.
• Collaborate with department faculty in curriculum implementation, student support, and continuous program improvement.

• M.A. or M.F.A. in related field preferred. Qualified individuals with B.A. in related areas and significant professional and teaching experience will be considered.
• Practical experience in filmmaking or media.
• Knowledge of process, equipment and theory related to topic.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and other relevant software tools.
• Demonstrated teaching ability.
• A vibrant Christian faith, and commitment to an integration of faith and learning.

Salary range reflects compensation paid for a 3‑unit course (144 total hours), varying based on the faculty member’s highest earned degree. Total compensation is based on the number of courses taught and corresponding units for each course.

Classical: $3,120 to $3,720 per course.
