Job Overview

Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offering flexible hours to assist adult students in achieving educational goals.

• Provide quality instruction per established curriculum and course outlines.
• Create an environment emphasizing teaching and learning and encouraging free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off‑campus classes.

• Valid California Community College instructor credential issued prior to July 1, 1990; or
• Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience; or
• Associate degree and six years of professional experience; or
• Combination of education and experience equaling the above (equivalency application required).
• Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage a diverse classroom environment.

• Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
• Expertise and professional experience in the field of course(s) to be taught.

Part‑time, temporary, hourly position contingent upon verification of employment history, background checks, and eligibility to work in the United States. Hours and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor. Attendance is essential; failure to meet attendance requirements may preclude retention. This position is part of a continuous recruitment pool for as‑needed assignments.

Based on Lecture Hour Equivalent in accordance with the current Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
