Position: .PT Faculty POOL - Marketing

Overview

Part‑time / temporary faculty positions are available for business administration and related disciplines. These roles support the Coast Community College District’s commitment to providing quality education to a diverse student body.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
  • Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
  • Teach all scheduled classes.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, or off‑campus classes.
Qualifications
  • Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject, issued prior to July 1, 1990.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration, business management, business education, marketing, advertising, or finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, business education, marketing, advertising, or finance AND a Master’s degree in economics, accountancy, taxation, or law from an accredited institution.
  • Combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to the above; equivalency applicants must submit an Application for Equivalency.
  • Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively teach a diverse student population.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
  • Expertise and professional experience in the field of courses to be taught.
Conditions of Employment
  • Part‑time, temporary basis contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification, eligibility to work, and approval by the Board of Trustees.
  • Hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
  • Continuous recruitment; applications accepted year‑round for one‑year eligibility in the applicant pool.
  • Regular attendance is essential; failure may preclude retention.
  • Position holder is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with District policies and Title IX.

Salary

Based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
