Position: .PT Faculty POOL - Women's Volleyball/ Beach Volleyball Head Coach

HEAD COACH, WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL AND/OR BEACH VOLLEYBALL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leading in all phases of coaching intercollegiate women's volleyball and/or beach volleyball at the community college level, including recruitment of quality college student-athletes; lead practice, competitions and games; enforce team policies and rules as well as college policies and rules, fundraising and community involvement.

2. Recruiting, budget development and management, practice/game management, academic and social media supervision of student-athletes, public relations, and fundraising.

3. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by the athletic director within the rules and regulations of the 3C2A, Orange Empire Conference, and Orange Coast College.

4. May drive college vehicles or college leased vehicles to and from scheduled contests.

5. Communicate with the Sports Information Director in a timely manner.

6. Coordinate with Sports Medicine the care and reporting of incidents and injuries to the appropriate college and district personnel.

7. Prepare a season summary and ensure student honors within conference, region and other athletic governing bodies are recommended and advocated.

8. Provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student-athletes.

9. Maintain effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, staff, administrators, alumni and the general public with regularly scheduled media and public speaking engagements; develop community support for the program, and fundraising.

10. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must meet one of the following qualifications under (a) through (d):

a. Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990);

b. Any Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution and two (2) years of professional experience that is directly related to the faculty member's assignment.

c. Any Associate degree from an accredited institution and six (6) years of professional experience that is directly related to the faculty member's assignment.

d. Or, possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to the above. Candidates making an application on the basis of equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency in addition to all other required materials.

2. Evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. The hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis
. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Part-time faculty applications are accepted year-round and will remain in the pool for one year. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview.
