Position: Instructor Radiological Technology (1-year contract)

Position Summary

Orange Coast College is hiring a temporary, 1‑year contract faculty member in Radiological Technology for Fall 2026. The assignment covers teaching all course content, curriculum and program development, committee participation, and compliance with accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain currency within the assigned discipline(s).
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication proficiency with students, colleagues, and staff.
  • Apply effective teaching methods and materials suited to course content, modality, and student needs.
  • Ensure compliance with course outlines and student learning outcomes.
  • Oversee all academic aspects of the program, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
  • Maintain program compliance with JRCERT and CDPH-RHB standards, curriculum, student assessment, and program effectiveness data.
  • Analyze program effectiveness data and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Conduct regular and timely office hours and maintain confidential student records.
  • Supervise and mentor program faculty, assist with orientation, and conduct faculty evaluations.
  • Manage program budgets, scheduling, resources, and relationships with clinical sites.
  • Deliver didactic and clinical instruction, teaching portions of the program's courses.
  • Practice academic advising and adhere to college and departmental requirements.
  • Demonstrate respect for students and colleagues, including patience, fairness, and responsiveness to diverse needs.
  • Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, leading to improved student outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Valid California Community College instructor credential in Radiological Technology (issued before July 1, 1990) OR Bachelor's degree with two years of professional experience OR Associate degree with six years of professional experience.
  • Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent.
  • Possesses a current California Department of Public Health (CDPH‑RHB) Clinical Radiology Technician (CRT) license and a Fluoroscopy permit, or will obtain licensure within three months of employment.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and disability backgrounds of community college students.
  • Preferred qualifications:

    commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching, experience with equity initiatives, evidence of self‑reflection based on student assessment, and willingness to engage in shared governance and leadership roles.
Conditions of Employment
  • Start Date:

    Fall 2026.
  • Salary: $67,053 – $118,007 (AA Salary Schedule).
  • Annual stipend: $3,992 for holding an earned doctorate.
  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for employee and eligible dependents.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect reporting, required to comply with district policies.
