Job Overview
Part‑time/temporary faculty positions in the Coast Community College District provide instruction to adult students in transfer, general education, vocational and occupational programs. Positions are available on a flexible basis and candidates should reside within commuting distance to Orange County.
Responsibilities- Provide quality instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Create and maintain an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill the professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off‑campus classes.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise and professional experience in the field of courses to be taught.
- Part‑time, temporary role contingent upon verification of employment history, background check, eligibility to work, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees.
- Hours and effective dates will be arranged with the supervisor.
- Continuous recruitment for a pool of applicants to fill assignments as needed; applications remain in the pool for one year.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function.
- Position holder is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with District policies.

Compensation is based on LHE (Lecture Hour Equivalent) in accordance with the current Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
