Job Overview
Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. These positions are needed as required and applicants should reside within commuting distance to Orange County.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide quality instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Create and maintain an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Stay current with knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Carry out the professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off‑campus classes.
- a. Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, issued prior to July 1, 1990.
- b. Master's degree in the language being taught from an accredited institution.
- c. Bachelor's degree in the language being taught and a Master's degree in another language or linguistics.
- d. Or possess a combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to the above.
- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise and professional experience in the field of courses to be taught.
- Online teaching experience.
Employment is part‑time, temporary, and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as required by education law, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the Board of Trustees. Hours and effective dates will be arranged with the supervisor.
- Regular attendance is essential; inability to meet attendance requirements may result in loss of employment.
- The holder of this position is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with district policies and Title IX.

Based on lecture‑hour equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current part‑time faculty salary schedule.
