College Lecturer
Coast Community College District (CCCD) is a multi‑college district that includes Coastline Community College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College. The district offers transfer, general education, occupational/technical, and community‑support programs for more than 60,000 students annually.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online and/or off‑campus classes.
- Eligibility
:- Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1 1990);
- Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience;
- Associate degree and six years of professional experience;
- Or, a combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to the above. Applicants based on equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency.
- Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the classroom environment and the ability to manage a diverse student population of various academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise and professional experience in the field of course(s) to be taught.
Part‑time, temporary employment contingent upon verification of employment history, background check, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Hours and start date will be arranged with the supervisor. The position is part of a continuous recruitment pool and will remain open for one year.
- Regular attendance is essential; inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude retention.
- The holder of this position is a mandated reporter required to comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and Title IX policies.

Compensation is based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
