College Lecturer
Part‑time Faculty – Coastal Community College District
Part‑time/temporary faculty positions provide instruction across transfer, general education, and vocational programs. Candidates must reside within Orange County and be available for day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off‑campus teaching.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards.
- Keep current knowledge of subject matter.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time faculty member.
- One of the following:
- Valid California Community College instructor credential issued before July 1, 1990.
- Master’s degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in the above areas plus a Master’s in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, or a related field.
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
- Evidence of sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds and ability to manage classroom environment.
- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise in the field of courses to be taught.
Part‑time, temporary arrangement with verification of employment history, background checks, and eligibility to work. Continuous recruitment for hourly assignments on an as‑needed basis. Employment remains in a pool for one year.
Regular attendance is an essential job function; failure to meet attendance requirements may result in termination.

Based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) per the current part‑time faculty salary schedule.
