College Lecturer
The Coast Community College District is a multi‑college district that includes Coastline College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College. The colleges offer programs in transfer, general education, occupational and technical education, community services, and student support services, serving over 60,000 students annually in more than 300 degree and certificate programs.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes, which may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off‑campus courses.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off‑campus classes.
- Applicant meets one of the following criteria:
- Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject, issued prior to July 1, 1990.
- Master’s degree in German.
- Bachelor’s degree in German and a Master’s degree in another language or linguistics.
- Combination of education and experience at least equivalent to the above. Equivalency application required if applying on the basis of equivalency.
- Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage a diverse classroom environment, and effectively provide instruction to community college students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise and professional experience in the field(s) to be taught.
- Part‑time, temporary basis contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the District Board of Trustees.
- Works on an as‑needed basis; hours open to discussion with the supervisor.
- Regular attendance is essential; failure to attend may lead to termination.
- Position holder is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act, required to comply with District policies and Title IX.

Based on lecture hour equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current Part‑Time Faculty Salary (BB) Schedule.
