Senior Apache Server Engineer

The Senior Apache Server Engineer will provide critical support for the final phase of an enterprise cloud migration project.

This role focuses on administering on-premise Apache web servers, extracting required configurations and artifacts for migration teams, and supporting stability of legacy systems during lift-and-shift activities.

The individual must be able to rapidly onboard into a complex environment, work independently, and respond quickly to high-urgency operational needs.

• Administer and support on-premise Apache web servers across staging and production environments.
• Extract required artifacts for migration activities, including configuration files, content directories, SSL certificates, and related components.
• Install and configure AWS MGN tools on servers as needed.
• Perform Apache troubleshooting and provide rapid response to migration team requests.
• Support server engineering tasks to maintain systems while on-premise workloads are transitioned.
• Collaborate closely with migration engineers and internal application teams.

• Extensive hands-on experience administering Apache servers, including compiling Apache and OpenSSL from source, performing upgrades, and managing Linux-based configurations.
• Strong understanding of web server architecture, traffic flow, and load balancing mechanisms.
• Deep expertise in SSL/TLS, including certificate installation, cipher suite configuration, and HTTPS troubleshooting.

• Senior-level engineering capability with ability to work autonomously.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, especially within legacy environments.
• Effective communication skills for working with technical stakeholders in fast-paced, high-urgency situations.

• Experience with AWS MGN for lift-and-shift migration.
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, VPC/subnets, and S3.
