Aboutthe Job
We are seeking a Hardware / Mechatronics Engineer to maintain, modify, and integrate the robotic platforms our team develops. You will be the hands‑on expert responsible for robot health, sensor integration, custom mechanical fabrication, and the physical modifications needed to adapt commercial platforms for defense applications.
What You’ll Do- Maintain and repair robotic platforms: joint module replacement, actuator diagnostics, sensor calibration, and firmware updates.
- Design and fabricate custom mechanical assemblies: payload mounting systems, tool attachments, sensor brackets, and protective enclosures.
- Integrate sensors (cameras, LiDAR, IMU, force/torque) into robotic platforms.
- Design and build end‑effector modifications and task‑specific tooling.
- Develop and maintain hardware documentation, maintenance procedures, and spare parts inventory.
- Support field testing and demonstrations, including rapid hardware triage.
- 3+ years of experience in mechatronics, robotics hardware, or electromechanical systems integration.
- Hands‑on experience with robotic platforms (assembly, disassembly, repair).
- Proficiency in CAD (Solid Works, Fusion 360) and fabrication (CNC, 3D printing).
- Experience with sensor integration and calibration.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, motor drivers, and embedded hardware.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Experience with legged robotic platforms.
- Experience with dexterous hand or gripper hardware.
- FEA and structural analysis experience.
- Prior work in defense, aerospace, or field robotics.
$129,000 — $194,000 USD
