Senior Director of Enterprise Systems Test

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. This role leads hardware test engineering with emphasis in developmental test, rapid development, and instrumentation, focusing on scalable, effective problem solving to support product development across divisions.

The Hardware Test Operations team works across products and business lines, including flight operations and test range management. Responsibilities cover end-to-end testing, from new production acceptance testing to sub-component qualification testing and beyond. This role offers the opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Hardware Test Enterprise Support organization—a centralized engineering shared-services team consisting of development testing, test instrumentation, data operations, rapid integration and test, and airworthiness—balancing resources, schedules, and priorities across all product divisions.
  • Coordinate with multiple product business units (air, maritime, land, and counter-UAS) and core engineering teams to translate diverse validation needs into standardized, scalable test processes and workflows.
  • Support product lines as a partner in test architecture development, collaborating on the strategic vision and infrastructure roadmap for test facilities, environmental labs, and automated test data systems to enable rapid scaling.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide implementation of new testing facilities and capital equipment (including RFP processes) and onboard new teams and resources into Anduril’s testing and airworthiness ecosystem.
  • Partner with hardware vendors, instrumentation providers, and third-party labs to negotiate enterprise agreements and standardize data acquisition and calibration tools across the company.
  • Collaborate with internal software and data teams to build a unified, enterprise-grade test data platform that ingests, processes, and visualizes multi-domain telemetry for easy access by design engineers.
  • Implement and support business health and productivity reporting to enhance program management, tracking, and reporting across major qualification campaigns and test programs.
  • Optimize enterprise test operations and scheduling to manage lab capacity, coordinate shared test assets, and reduce bottlenecks across divisional timelines.
  • Develop and drive a strategic roadmap for enterprise hardware testing capabilities, enabling expansion into new domains and environments (underwater, surface, land, air, and space).
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and SLAs to measure throughput, asset utilization, safety, and operational impact of the Enterprise Support organization on product divisions.
Required Qualifications:
  • 20+ years of experience implementing and operating hardware testing, system validation, or multi-disciplinary physical engineering programs, with leadership of centralized, enterprise-level support structures.
  • Extensive experience with physical testing methodologies across product domains, including structural/environmental testing, instrumentation, systems integration (HIL/SIL), and multi-domain regulatory standards (aviation, maritime, or ground systems).
  • Energy and passion to work at a hyper-growth startup disrupting the defense industry and a strong belief in Anduril’s mission.
  • Empathy for internal customers (product divisions and design engineers) and a preference for high-velocity testing services over traditional, paper-heavy practices.
  • Experience architecting test operations, specialized labs/facilities, and secure data pipelines for multi-site environments with data residency and ITAR/EAR considerations.
  • Experience with regulated compliance frameworks (e.g., NAVSEA, MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-516, DO-160, or FAA) and navigating governance for rapid cross-domain deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex, multi-domain physical…
