Staff Power Systems Engineer

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.

As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About The Job

We are looking for a Staff Power Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa or Long Beach, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for owning vehicle system-level electrical power analyses and architecture to ensure our aircraft meet mission and flight requirements. You will lead key technical analyses; including Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA), Emergency Mode Analysis, Battery Sizing, and Bus Integrity.

While also driving the power architecture roadmap for the New Aircraft program and next generation vehicle variants. This will require deep expertise in large air-vehicle power distribution systems, simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, SIMPLIS), and military compliance standards (MIL-STD-464, 461, 810, 1760). If you are a seasoned technical leader who thrives on end-to-end ownership, complex vehicle integration, and shaping technical roadmaps for high-visibility autonomous airframes, this role is for you.

What

You'll Do
  • Own vehicle system-level electrical power analyses, including Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA), Emergency Mode Analysis, Battery Sizing, Short-Circuit, and Bus Integrity.
  • Shape the electrical architecture trade studies and technical power roadmap for the Fury (Group
    5) platform and future vehicle variants.
  • Develop vehicle integration-level test plans, verification procedures (VTPs), and validation criteria for power distribution systems.
  • Ensure power system designs comply with critical military standards, including MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-1760.
  • Execute Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) trade studies and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) to optimize performance and mission reliability.
  • Perform circuit and power system modeling using simulation tools such as LTspice, SIMPLIS, or Multi-Spice.
  • Collaborate closely with Systems, Avionics, Flight Test, and Hardware teams to guide requirements and resolve integration challenges.
  • Support ground and flight test campaigns by reviewing power telemetry data, diagnosing anomalies, and verifying flight readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in vehicle- or aircraft-level electrical power distribution systems and systems integration.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA), battery sizing, and power budget calculations for complex aerospace or high-power platforms.
  • Proficiency in electrical simulation and modeling software (e.g., LTspice, SIMPLIS, Multi-Spice, or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of relevant military standards, such as MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-464 (E3), MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-1760.
  • Experience conducting SWaP trade studies and FMEA at the vehicle or subsystem level.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience with military air vehicles, Group 5 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), or tactical defense programs.
  • Experience bridging aerospace power architectures with high-voltage battery/EV power technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience taking a vehicle power subsystem from initial concept and architecture trades through ground and flight test verification.
