Overview

The Hermès South Coast Plaza boutique opened in 1997 and focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients as a part of the Pacific West Region. This position reports to the Operations Director and supports the client experience, representing Hermès in all respects of their duties.

The Hospitality Ambassador is responsible for providing unparalleled hospitality by creating a welcoming environment from the front door to the sales floor. The Ambassador is a team player, collaborating with sales associates to support all elements of hospitality throughout the selling ceremony. The role requires curiosity, strong multi-tasking, and a refined sense of hospitality.

Responsibilities
  • Create an effortless luxury environment and exceed expectations in all hospitality services
  • Greet and welcome clients as they enter and leave the boutique
  • Efficiently manage main floor traffic by greeting clients, determining needs, and escorting them to the appropriate floor or sales associate
  • Engage with clients, guests, and colleagues in a gracious, attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Provide bespoke, high-touch hospitality in collaboration with the sales team
  • Assist guests with taxi or car service and help with shopping bags or purchases as necessary
  • Provide directions when needed and partner with Concierge/Host for car services
  • Demonstrate knowledge of store layout and neighborhood
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all métiers (product categories)
  • Offer hospitable services, such as holding umbrellas during inclement weather
  • Monitor for client service needs and report safety concerns to Asset Protection as appropriate
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support business needs and other operational duties
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor
About You / Qualifications
  • High interest in learning about all Hermès métiers, history, and art collection
  • Strong communication skills and a warm, gracious demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly disposition
  • Proactive, calm, professional, and polite approach to customer care
  • Ability to provide information about the neighborhood, store services, and other inquiries
  • Experience in a similar retail environment, or as a Concierge or Host in high-end settings (e.g., hotels, fine dining)
  • Works collaboratively and excels in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
  • Attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs
  • Knowledge of languages beyond English is a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Ability to stand for long periods

The pay range for this position is $24.00 to $27.00 per hour. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
