Stop Loss Group Underwriter Consultant, Senior
The role requires associates to be in-office 1‑2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility to support productivity and work‑life balance. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Responsibilities- Calculate stop loss rates for large complex cases based on thorough analysis of experience, location, demographics, etc.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of overall account reporting.
- Propose rates for prospective business utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data and manual rates.
- Perform post‑sale reviews.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of annual settlements, rate projections, or benefit change increments and decrements.
- Survey existing product portfolios by market, monitor sales results, trends and needs, recommend product portfolio changes.
- Assist in establishing rating and administrative procedures.
- Participate in major multi‑functional teams as underwriting representative.
- Assist in the technical development of underwriting associates, which may include monitoring reports and workflow to provide recommendations on productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Update and monitor departmental processes and procedures in compliance with system, regulatory and business requirements.
- BA/BS in a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
- CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA, PAHM or other insurance‑related courses preferred.
- Stop Loss underwriting experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise, knowledge and proficiency in Medical Stop Loss Underwriting.
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary range for this specific position is $105,160 to $172,080.
